New Features
There is something for everyone in this batch of new features that released this past month. You now have faster donation tracking, better internal controls, more report filters, and a new ability to add files and private notes to your contact database. There were too many features released to cover them all, but here is a quick recap of the biggest changes that you’ll want to check out.
Major Features in This Recap
WePay Withdrawal
If you use Aplos to collect online payments, the new WePay Withdrawal screen will help you automatically create your journal entry. It will reflect the daily or weekly transfer of funds from WePay into your bank account, including the relevant funds that were linked to each purpose. Just review the list of pending withdrawals and click post! Check out this article for more detail on how it works.
If you are already using WePay, be sure to also read this article before you start, which covers some best practices to get your WePay account reconciled. It also ensures you only bring in new fund transfers and don’t duplicate ones you have already manually created. Tips to Before Using WePay Withdrawals
Contact Files & Private Notes
Attach files to a contact to keep more detailed records of your contacts, such as keeping records of background checks or applications. You can set the privacy level of these files to be restricted to yourself; only those with the “Restricted Notes & File” role permission, or to all users who can access contacts. You can also now set a privacy level for your contact notes so you can keep personal notes to yourself, or sensitive notes for users with restricted access. To give users in your organization access to restricted notes or files, edit their role permissions on the User Settings page.
Attach files to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Journal Entry and Bank Reconciliations
You can now attach files to more accounting activities in accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and bank reconciliations. This will help you increase internal controls and reduce your paper clutter. For example, you may wish to attach a copy of a bill to Accounts Payable so it can be easily reviewed prior to paying. Or you can attach a copy of your bank statement to the closed bank reconciliation.
Receive payments for invoices from Canadian or UK individuals
All organizations have the ability to send invoices by email so they can be paid online. However, the payment method previously required an individual to use a United States address. Now if you send an invoice to an individual in Canada or the UK, they can pay online using the link in the emailed invoice. Learn more about receiving invoice payments online.
